My policies are are follows:

❖ Massage therapy provided by Health & Hope is therapeutic in nature, given for the purposes of deep relaxation, stress management, reduction of muscular tension, and developing holistic personal awareness. I do not diagnose illness, disease, or any other physical disorder. I do not prescribe medication or perform spinal adjustments or manipulations.

❖ All massage services provided by this practice are non-sexual. No sexual conversation or behavior will be tolerated by either the therapist or client at any time. Any inappropriate words, jokes, innuendo, or suggestions by the client will result in the immediate termination of the massage session. Massage sessions terminated for inappropriate behavior will be charged the full session fee and this practice will be closed to you with no referral.

❖ Good personal hygiene is mutually respected on both the part of the client and the massage therapist. Should either part fail to uphold their hygiene responsibilities, services for that session will be postponed. This includes body odor and dirty feet.

❖ I reserve the right to refuse to work on a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including mind-altering prescription medications. If a client has taken pain medication within 12 hours of their scheduled appointment time, the session may be rescheduled. Please reach out in advance if you have concerns about your prescription medications interfering with your session.

❖ You must be 18 years of age or older in order to receive massage, or have a parent or guardian provide written consent in person. Massage provided to anyone aged 16 years old and younger must have a parent or guardian present during bodywork.

❖ I ask that clients over 18 leave children, partners/spouses, and friends at home; should a client feel the need to bring someone along to allow them to feel more comfortable in their session, I ask that the integrity of the session not be compromised and the other party remain quiet and respectful. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, any guests must be cleared in advance or be turned away at the front doors.

❖ I respect all clients regardless of age, gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, or political affiliation. I will maintain confidentiality of all client information except in the event the client agrees to disclosure in writing or I am court-ordered to release records.

❖ Health & Hope shall not be held liable for any conditions that arise after the massage. Clients agree to this for the initial and all future massage by signing the Massage Client Waiver Form. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by either party, and clients are encouraged to continuously communicate boundary requirement with me. The client agrees to state all information on the Intake Form, including health history, accurately and completely. The client agrees to inform me of any new conditions or changes in their health.

❖ All payment is required at the time of service.

Cancellation, Late, and No-Show Policies:
❖ Time is important, both yours and mine. In order to best utilize it, all rescheduling and cancellations of appointments must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice. A $20 fee will be deducted from the card on file/your $20 deposit will not be returned for each session cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice by a client. If a client is less than 15 minutes late to their session, the remaining appointment time will be utilized to provide the best bodywork possible and the full amount will be charged for the session; the session will terminate at the previously-agreed end time.

If a client is more than 15 minutes late to a session, the client will be considered a no-show and the session will be forfeit. No-shows will be treated as a cancellation without notice and a $20 fee will be deducted from your card on file/your $20 deposit will not be returned. Two no-shows will disqualify the client for future bookings.

❖ Health & Hope will begin all massage sessions on time. If the session begins late due to no fault of the client, the session will be either given added time at the end to make up for it, or discounted appropriately.

IF YOU ARE SICK: I do understand that emergencies and illnesses do occur – if you are sick, if you have a fever, are vomiting, or have children that are ill and need you at home, within 24 hours of your appointment – please cancel your appointment. Cancellations of this nature will have their fee waived. Your health and the health of those you care for is important to me.

❖ If you have an emergency and need to reschedule, please feel free to reach out. If you are running late, please also reach out to let the therapist know what time to anticipate your arrival.
